Early Harappan Period (c. 3200-2600 BCE)

This human burial was excavated from the Early Harappan site of Juna Khatiya in Gujarat. The burial is of an adult male. The burial was done in a pit along with three burial pottery kept near the feet. The surface of the burial pit was provided with a rectangular-shaped burial structure made of sandstone blocks. The whole burial along with the soil was cut as a block and strengthened and then transported to the museum. The burial block lifting process can be watched in the following video.
